FSH

This course covers the psychological, biological and behavioral causes and effects of substance abuse and addiction with particular focus on the impact of alcohol, cannabis, nicotine, opiates, stimulants, depressants and hallucinogens on mind, body and behavior. Also, this course provides students with a survey of the historical context of the legislative initiatives utilized in order to attempt to combat the use of drugs, the relationship between drug use/abuse and crime and the public policy problems surrounding that control of drugs.
