Curriculum is a framework guiding teaching and learning. This course focuses on the three major components of curriculum in the teaching of primary school students: Content, Pedagogy and Assessment. You will explore theories of teaching and learning prior to practice through readings, reflections and designing lesson plans for local syllabi. The training on learner-centered instruction will be the focus for this course. You will explore both traditional and emerging teaching approaches that support inquiry-based learning (eg. problem-based learning, Project-based learning, Design Thinking), in a context relevant to Macau. The roles of teachers and learners in supporting learning of this kind will be discussed. The class will also explore and the use various technologies and digital media that support learning. In addition, students will construct and develop classroom assessment to assess attainment of learning outcomes.
