This course provides an in-depth study of the political, economic, social interactions among China, Southeast Asia, and India from the 15th century to the present. The course firstly presents a field survey with theoretical engagements, and then follows to discuss some recent case studies of diplomacy, trade, diaspora, religion. Cross-regional, trans-national, and border-crossing would be highlighted to understand the dynamics of intra-Asian interactions.
