This course aims to familiarize students with the fundamental concepts of the environment and process of project management, so they will be able to productively take part in a cross-functional project team and potentially lead a real-world business project. Students will learn to understand the common practices and issues in project planning and control, and to effectively make use of project management techniques and tools, as well as to integrate different functional skills in developing a project proposal. Topics to be covered include: the Project Life Cycle; the project management process; project planning and organization; project finance and control; resource considerations. Basic quality management concepts will also be introduced and applied to project planning and execution.
