This course provides an introduction to the fundamental theories underpinning Chinese medicine. It covers key concepts from ancient Chinese naturalistic philosophy, such as qi, yin-yang, and the five phases, as well as additional concepts specific to Chinese medicine. The course also emphasizes the integration of scientific, technological, and managerial aspects necessary to address global challenges related to the quality and compliance of Chinese medicines with both national and international standards. Topics will include strategies for quality control, new drug discovery and development (including preclinical and clinical trials), as well as regulatory and commercialization processes for Chinese medicine.
