This course introduces key theories, methods and digital tools for analysing discourse in a variety of social domains. Besides learning the major traditions – Systemic Functional Linguistics, (Critical) Discourse Analysis, Conversation Analysis, Multimodal & Corpus approaches – students will work with authentic data and complete a small-scale research project.
