CISC 7102 Computer Networks and Internet is a graduate-level course about the fundamentals and principles of computer communications, networks, and Internet. The course will cover the selected important topics in the relevant areas, covering statistical multiplexing and packet switch, delay/loss model in Internet, the principle of reliable data transfer and pipelining, congestion analysis, and congestion control, TCP fairness, Dijkstra’s algorithm and routing design, analysis of medium access control protocol, etc. The course will also cover the recent advances in the relevant areas, including advanced cellular access networks, cloud/edge computing, and Internet of Things, etc.
