This course covers the recent development in the Pharmaceutical Science and Biomaterials Science, which will help students to understand how pharmaceutical technologies and new biomaterials can be used to improve drug safety and efficacy. It will introduce various drug delivery routes, nanotechnologies, biomaterials and cancer treatment. An overview of molecular pharmaceutics, supramolecular pharmaceutics, and smart nanoparticles and biomaterials for drug delivery will be covered. Development of functional and smart biomaterials systems, in tandem with evaluation of cell-substrate interactions at molecular level, would be discussed in various therapeutic contexts.
