This is a postgraduate course in the theory and
practice of personnel management in the public, non-profit and private sectors.
Personnel related topics covered in this course may include personnel
administration, the nature of government and business, workforce planning,
staffing, compensation, training and development, position management,
performance management, health and safety, discipline, strategic management and
collective bargaining. The course offers students an opportunity to apply and relate
the concepts and theories of personnel management in modern government to
empirical studies in the non-profit and private sectors as well, taking into
account change and development in the environment.
