This course will help students understand current issues in world politics through major theoretical perspectives in the field of International Relations (IR). It will help them understand and critically evaluate those theories’ key concepts, foundational assumptions, central arguments, their strengths and weaknesses, the key theorists and their representative work. Wherever relevant, the course will also shed light on the connections and differences between some IR theories, discuss major theoretical debates, and reflect on some main issues in the production and application of IR theories.
