Welcome to Course HSCI4002: Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine!

Stem cells can self-renew and differentiate into all types of specialized cells in the body. They are involved in embryonic development, organogenesis, tissue maintenance, repair, and regeneration. They are like the seeds of life and health. Stem cells are widely used in genetic and tissue engineering, disease modeling and therapy as well as drug screening and toxicity study.

This course includes lectures, paper presentations, and lab experience. It is attempted to give students a comprehensive view of the basic knowledge, scientific methods, most important discoveries, and progress as well as challenges and ethical considerations in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
