This course will introduce basic chemistry, biology knowledge and fundamental pharmaceutical concepts, which will help students to understand how pharmaceutical science, technologies and new biomaterials can be used to improve drug safety and efficacy in drug development. It will provide an overview on how to make rational dosage from design, what dosage forms and technology could be utilized in different delivery routes, as well as the formulation and modernization of Chinese Medicine. Delivery of biopharmaceutics for wound healing and targeted drug delivery for cancer therapy will also be discussed.
